If Money Were No Object, Which car Would You Drive?
Are you a Ferrari man, or do you prefer Porsches? Perhaps a BMW is the car of your dreams. Almost everyone has spent a little while drooling over Top Gear, or staring wistfully through the window of the local luxury dealership. Why not refresh your wish list with a look at some of the modern luxury cars in the “best that money can buy” range:
Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe

The Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe is a convertible Rolls Royce – the first one to be released in quite a few years. It features motorized rear doors that open forwards, rather than backwards, and has a stainless steel bonnet and a teak rear deck. It can manage 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds, and costs around £400,000 if you go for the added extras.
Bentley Azure

The Bentley Azure is another convertible. It’s a four-seater, and it’s hand made. The engine is a 6.8 litre V8, similar to the one that’s been the trademark of Bentley’s for the last 40+ years. The dash is made of wood, the seats are leather, and the entire thing feels incredibly well made, which it should, considering it costs about £200,000.
BMW 7 Series

The BMW 7 Series is a little more affordable than some of the other cars in this list, but it’s still a great car. It’s energy efficient, low emissions, spacious, and comfortable. It features a 3.0 litre diesel engine which is fast but economical. You can pick one of these cars up for around £60,000 – making it a great choice for a first luxury car. The only thing that mars the experience is that, while this car is great to drive, the riding experience feels a little rougher than it should.
Aston Martin DBS

The Aston Martin is a great choice for anyone wanting the distinguished “James Bond” look. The DBS is more expensive than its younger brother, the DB9 model, but for the extra cash you get a more interesting body style, and a nice powerful engine. The DBS has a manual transmission, so it might not suit everyone, but if you like that sort of thing it’s a great vehicle with a lot of “oomph” to it.
BMW Gran Coupe

If you’re looking for something a little sleeker than the 7 series, and softer than the Aston Martin DBS, then the BMW Gran Coupe is a nice choice. It costs £75,000, and for that you get a stylish four door car with four full-size seats and a small central rear seat. The engine is a 444bhp 4.4 litre V8. There is a diesel option available too, which has a 309bhp, 3,0litre, six cylinder engine.
The above is just a selection of the luxury cars on the market at the moment. There are many other options, such as the Chrysler 300c, the Audi A7 Sportback, the Mercedes Benz CLS, and the Ferrari F599. Which one would you opt for?
